i need some info like, why did you try it, what differences did you notice while on it, what doses did you use and how long were you on. thanks.

bump...id like to know as well...also how does it compare to wellbutrin in terms of effects...do they work in the same way???

It made me a little nervous and agitated at 5mgs. So I stopped taking it. I tried it for puffy nips but later found out my prolactin was normal anyway through a blood test. It's also supposed to increase libido, but I didn't notice anything.

just a little caveat to that.. prolactin spikes are often the real problem.. and prolactin has a VERY SHORT life.. unless you have true hyperprolactinemia.. blood test will not reveal this

Here are some warnings - read as much as you can about deprenyl before you take it. Used incorrectly it can induce severe depression.

........I'd like for anyone to chime in on this as well...I'm taking wellbutrin SR,and I skip a day or two a week and take a 5mg deprenyl instead that day...I'm mainly taking the deprenyl for life extension purposes and so twice a week seems to be the recommended amount for this..any thoughts?

Around a year ago I was given a box of 5mg Jumex. To be quite honest I noticed nothing from it even at a 10mg dosage, I even tried taking it sublingually as absorbtion is supposed to be better that way. The real purpose for this medicine is a mild adjunct to Parkinson's treatment although some research contraindicts its usage with l-dopa. It is also supposed to be a very good protective factor for dopaminergic nuerons, so it may be quite useful for older people. BTW, there used to be liquid form of this available which many parkinson's patients SWORE by, but the FDA busted the dude who was responsible for it calling it "unauthorzied maufacture of a presription medicine" or something similar.

Yes the liquid form was deprenyl citrate - I think IAS still sells it although it may be from a different manufacturer cause, as mentioned, the FDA busted that guy (Discovery Experimental brand out of FL) - by the way that was the brand I liked the best too. I found it to be effective as an anti-depressant and pro-sexual, but dosage is critical. The amount needed varies with individual and age, the liquid form was really nice since you could precisely titrate the dose. Supposedly, they say the liquid citrate form was more bio-active somehow. I am taking it in a different compounded formula now, as a sublingual, but it does not seem to be as effective. Although I still like it.
