Anyone Taken A Cortisone Shot?

Having some really bad tendonitis in my elbow. Anyone had any type of experiences with cortisone shots for anti-inflammatory?

I have had cortisol, but never in my elbow, should work well, kills the pain.

hmm , I thought it was called a "cortisone" shot, lol. cortisol is a stress hormone that makes you fat and gain belly fat bro.

and to answer the question, no ive never had cortisone shots, but from people i've talked to , it is just a masking agent, and it temporarily takes away the pain but does nothing to solve the problem. IMHO it is a waste and just makes the condition worse but some people cant live without those shots .

These shots have helped and hurt me. After I severed a tendon which required surgery while under the influence of cortisone, I figured that I should have had an MRI done first, before the shot. That tells you if somethings about to tear , and masking the injury pain just fooled me into thinking it wasn't so bad.

Throughout my time playing football in college I had 3, and I have had one since when recovering from semi-recent knee injury. Not one of them helped me.

I've had tw or three a year for about twenty years. Throwing a softball like your life depends on it tends to tear up your shoulder. It works if you are just dealing with minor pains that NSAIDs don't help. Minor tears and tendinosis in my case.

Yes I had several in the elbow for tennis elbow. They hurt very bad. It does relieve the pain but if you continue to do the things that caused the pain to begin with it will not go away just mask the pain until the shot wears off. If you require several shots like I did then surgery will be next. I had my tendon released and reatteched and it worked can now lift pain free.
