Anyone suggestions for being a publisher?

I've been handed a trade publication in my lap.

It'll be PDF online only -- but I got the fun of writing articles, researching stories, talking to industry people, recruiting and dealing with advertisers, and graphic layouts.

Any suggestions on puttig the publication together? I can deal with the above interpersonal comm. fine, but i'm not well versed at putting a mag together.

I'm thinking writing articles, layout into WORD, add ads, then export into PDF. Then add on website.

Is there a dummies book on this?

I don't want to spend 50% of my time just cutting pasting, and only have 50% actually writing articles and dealing with people.

what is the area (subject)? If you are talking about ebook then thats easy to automate. Also you can get ghost writers or frelannce guys to write as long as you give them a resource or byline.

Is this gonna be mailed out?

If you are looking for software ..I recommend Word to PDF for webonly, or Quark for top shelf offline publications
