After reformating, how do I go about re-installing everything. I have all my cd's, disks, and everything but I don't know where to start the re-install.
all right assuming the com0puter is fairly new you would see a prompt after you reformat it and turn it on it should say C:/
Then you put in the windows CD and type D:/win
or whichever drive your cd is on that should install windows nt and you can go from there. make sure you have the windows code on the back of the package though
if the cd will not work to read it you must install that first probably a disk so type A:
then on the disk it will tell you what to type probably
A:/install
before formatting your harddrive, back up anything that is of any value/significance to you onto a zip drive/cd/any other media you can find (there are on-line sites that have free space www.xdrive.com is one)
don't want to see hammy get blasted for his wonderful advice
yeah just do what I told you it should work great. But yeah save everything of value on disks, cd etc.
Is it any certain brand name cause some come with a reinstall cd with everything on one
