Anyone know doses with accutane?

I am going to the dermatalogist tomorrow and if i don't get prescribed accutane i'm going to order some online. Can anyone tell me what doses they took and for how long. Also what kind of results you got from it. Thanks karma to anyone that helps

I would be very surprised if your doc doesnt give you some, but in case he doesnt try starting with 40mg and see if you get any sides (dry skin, nosebleeds, etc). If you are all good you can move it up to 120mg/day safely, but it is really up to you.

I have been on accutane 4 times

The first was one 40mg pill Mon, Wed, Fri for six months
The second was the same.
The third was 40mg every day for 4 months.
The forth and final (and most painful) was 2 x 40 mg everyday for seven months.

After each treatment I got a different type of acne and had to go back on it. Mine was caused by teenage years....so I don't know if the dosages differ if you are on a cycle. To this day (with a number of cycles done) I have never broken out again.

I hope that helps.

No prob man...I dont do this for karma.:)

Johnboy, the shit about accuatne being that harsh on the liver is a myth. What it CAN affect, however, is your cholesterol levels. This is why, whenever you get your blood tested by a doc before he prescribes accutane, they do a blood lipid check.

Lguy00...

Bro just to sum it up for you...

Accutane should be taken for at least the recommended 4-5months and is usually dosed for daily administration. Dosing is based on bodyweight but most people are in the range of 20mg once a day OR 40mg twice a day. Everybody reacts differently and often results are not achieved until the 4th or 5th month. Again, everyone is different, so following an initial breakout period, I've had friends that cleared up by the end of the first month where as I did not clear up until the end of the fourth month.
For many, Accutane is a "miracle cure" but for some, one course is not enough...BTW, it often takes a bit longer before any cystic and body acne start to clear up.
I used accutane about a year ago 40mg once a day for the first month and then 40mg 2 x per day for the next 4 months. To avoid nearly ALL the side-effects just remember a few simple things...1) Drink at LEAST a gallon of water every day 2) Carry moisturizer, Visine and Vaseline (not chapstick) with you everywhere you go 3) Do NOT drink alcohol 4) Put a thick film of vaseline on your lips every night before bed...works great 5) Try and stay out of the sun.
My cholesterol and liver values were fine until the end of the 5th month. I got careless and had a few beers a couple of times and my blood tests came back a mess.

LASTLY...My acne started to come back after my last cycle and my doc won't put me back on accutane yet because she says I don't need it (WRONG). I'm taking minocycline, tazroac (topical) and erythromycin (topical) right now. So if you can get any EXTRA prescriptions from your doc by telling her you lost them or something, feel free to send them my way...:D:D:D

It's the only thing that ever worked for my face.

No, it's not a myth. I was blood tested every month and my liver enzymes did increase while on accutane. Nothing really high, but it's still stressing your liver.

I was on accutane when I was 16 for evere acne on my cest and back. I think the dose was 40mg, and I took it every day and it cleared totally in about 5 months. I have the occasional zit, but that shit changed my life forever, in a good way that is. I never wanted to take off my shirt before, my back was SICK!!! I still have some scars, but it's not bad. The only sides I had were dry lips.

Ya, I dont doubt that. What I was referring to was when people claim along the lines that you will eventually shit out your liver or something while taking accutane. I just said that the damage to the liver was greatly exaggerated.

i was on accutane as well and it is amazing!...but dude you arent just going to be able to buy it off the internet, without a prescription...anyways just be careful if u do go on it, start off low dosage and move up from there, just be patient

PM me if u have any more ??'s

peace

I

I just got prescribed it , im around 210 and I am going to be taking 40 mgs 2 times a day. My face is clear just have some back/shoulder pimples, and having bad skin isnt something you have to live with in my opinion. It isnt bad but it does bother me, Makes me nervous to wear a tank top to the gym , just looks bad. Would cycling t-200 while taking accutane be a bad idea or throw my cholestrol levels off. ANy ideas to that, I plan on taking tyler dextox, and a ton of ala so I figure I got all the liver stuff in check, any thoughts comments.
