anyone know anything about Xbox mods?

Are there mods you can do to your Xbox? I have read you can copy games to the hard drive and run them without any load times. Anyone have any info?

I have a mod chip on my xbox. It was really easy to install. The great thing about the mod chip is that it lets you swap out the hard drive, so I put in a 120GB HD. You can go to Blockbuster and rent a game and then store the whole game, which is usually between 1-2 GB, and play it whenever. I have about 10 games stored right now. You can also burn games to DVD if you d/l off the internet, but in order for it to load quickly you must use a DVD burner/DVDR/RW. I ordered one and am waiting for it right now. The prices have went down. I found a DVD burner for $230 and the DVDRs for 50 cents a piece.

Where did you get the chip? You can store games? Right on. Sounds cool.

Search in google under xbox mod chip or Xbox matrix or Xbox Xodus. That is the one I bought; no soldering or anything. It has a programmable bios, so if there are updates in the future, it can still work. It works with v1 and v1.1. I have the brand new one that came with two free games for $200.

Do some research before you buy anything.

People who have mod-chipped x-boxes and getting cut off x-box live. Microsoft can tell which machines have been chipped and they are being kicked from the servers.

With the setup I have there is a way to restart the xbox back to its original factory setup without taking the xbox apart, but I have not used Xbox live, so I have no first hand knowledge if that is true or not.
