Anyone here use Trillian?

Trillian, as in the program that incorporates ICQ, MSN, and AIM, right? I've used it before but don't even have it on my computer now (and haven't for months). I don't mind using MSN, AIM, and Yahoo separately.

Yeah. Why not I think is better than using seperate messengers.

I don't know. I don't remember why I uninstalled it. I think I just never used it. lol. It can be convenient and I can see why some people would prefer it, it just didn't grow on me is all. :)

I dont use anything but msn. Yahoo is crap and so is icq.

In a nutshell, you will find nuts.

Haha, I haven't used ICQ for years. I remember back in elementary school everyone at my school used ICQ. Then everyone replaced it with MSN. I don't think anyone really uses ICQ anymore.

How old are you? ICQ was started in 1996.

It just updated today (but then again, it was on a machine that had been in a box for the last month or two...). Maybe that's what you need to do? They have to keep reverse-engineering the chat servers because Yahoo and AOL and MSN keep trying to lock them out.

The new update has one weird change -- lots of the words I typed had underlines, and I thought it was trying to spell-check me, but no, it was linking everything in my chat to Wikipedia. In case I needed to look up what a "login" was.

This, to them, is a feature. I think they've lost their minds.

I try to reinstall it. I got the 3.1 version. Nothing happened. I can't still be able to log in at all. Weird.

digger where did you get the new version?

It updated itself when I started it.

well it look like I got the new version because I just went to the site and the new version is 3.1 and that's what I have. I still can't be able to log in at all. GrrrRRRRrrr

Does anyone knows How do I uninstall trillian?

I went to my control panel then to the add/remove is not there I went to the Program files Try to delete the folder "trillian" out of my C drive but it said is overwrite.

I can't connect at all. GRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

this may be off the subject a bit but I love skype instead of the messengers b/c of the digital quality sound and it has a messenger feature with it. Sorta like the new VOIP options allowed with voice chat.
Means pc to pc calls for free phone calls and skypeout to call regular phones for a small fee.
It came pre-installed on windows mobile pocket pc/cellphone meaning that I can skype through my cellphone and not use any minutes or long distance fees screwing the cellphone company that overcharges for that when I pay for unlimited data transfer already. Voice is just data same with texts. It just converts the voice and texts into data transferable over the internet rather than through cellphone providers.
Same deal with messenging on regular pcs. Why messenge when you can simply voicechat with a cheap headset

yahoo and aim have that one too.

Yes, but the quality is poor in comparison often slowing down and speeding up, at least in my experience. Skype is true digital quality better than regular phonecalls. Its sorta funny when you are chatting and the person starts to speed up and sound like Alvin and the chipmunks. The MSN sucked completely for VOIP dropping the voicechat completely at times.
Also, Skype is the only one that works on cellphones currently for voice, msn messenger is on there but thats text only for mobile

www.skype.com

its super easy, just like making a phone call or emailing or messenging. Any other person practically with a pc can download it for free and since most others have a PC then long distance friends can skype phone rather than tradional phone calls saving a bundle on phonecalls.

They sell skype phones that plug directly into your pc that look just like a regular phone or like I use a digital headphone with a mic. That way I can use the headphones for music as well.

I also have skylook for skype that means I can record any conversation easily into an MP3 if I so desired and it integrates with microsoft outlook. But thats not really necessary

I should also add that skype you can put on call-forwarding to ring you at a landline or cellphone if you are busy with no expense to the caller if you arent at your pc or have a pocketpc gsm/gprs enabled like I do

thanks Brothabill!

I'll check it out!

Its the wave of the future of telecommunications making tradional phone calling a waste of money.
This is pretty cool as well, I dont need it but its still cool. Its a cordless skype approved phone that plugs into your usb port. Meaning talk on your cordless phone the same and wander about your house only for free.

http://www.skypemart.com/direct/skypeusa/itemdetl.jsp?prod=2831

You can get a skype phone number and access it all around the world and a voicemail too, its like a phone number that follows you anywhere you go. Costs extra but still cheaper than traditional phone calls. Why anyone still has a landline boggles me when a cellphone and skype can be done

Make sure you have your password correct. It will still load the program and never really ask for your password. You just won't be connected. You need to manually reenter your password.

Your loss.

It will not tell you wether or not you entered an incorrect password, it will just simply not connect . I'd make 100% sure you are entering the correct one before giving up.
