Don’t know what you’re used to but St. Roberts is the shittiest town in the United States…well close. It’s the basic disgusting small run down military town(fort-wood is one of the worst military bases in the united states. No joke!). There is nothing to do for at least a 150 square miles either way. You have to go to Springfield, Columbia, or st Louis for fun. I lived in Rolla for over 13 years which is 25 min away from St Roberts. there is nothing in rolla except an engineering school(99% males) there are no women anywhere, but Rolla is a great town for rising a family and is growing really fast(probably around 20,000 people now) really nice community if you like the small hometown out doors scene. But I will tell you straight up right now that St Roberts is a shit hole and you will want to kill yourself if you’re there longer than 30 minutes.

I don’t know anything about dale city Va but i'd pick it over st roberts in a heart beat.

Dale City is about 30 min from DC. It is right next to Potomac Mills, which is a very popular shopping area. It is about 20 min north of Quantico. Not a lot in Dale City really, it is a bedroom community. Most that live there commute to DC.

I live in MO, but I've never been to St. Robert...

Maybe a place that is better than Dale City is somewhere in Fairfax off of the beltway 495 or 395...perhaps Shirlington area off of 395 or Tysons in Fairfax off of 495...prices are about $1100/ 1bedroom a month.
