Anyone here know anything about the MCAT?

Thinking about taking it but I have no idea besides what I can find on web sites who want to sell you learning programs. I know there are three parts and you need a pretty high score but you can retake different parts.

Any info anyone can provide or good sites for general information? Or has anyone taken it and can give me some tips?

I know that it tests 1st and 2nd year sciences plus has an aggressively graded essay component (which requires some time with a writing handbook, it is the first thing they notice) + strong reading comp. skills that often can only improve with many weeks of practice.

The easiest way to go about studying for it is to get Kaplan materials. They do a proficient job for the MCAT (but your success will vary, their LSAT materials are subpar).
