Anyone have experience with Modafinil?

I'll start.

A friend of mine uses it whenever things get busy work-wise. He found the dosage that works best for him, and during busy weeks, he takes the stuff and goes without sleep for 40 hours straight quite a bit. All throughout, he is wide awake _and_ clear minded, almost as if he hadn't lost any sleep. It seems like quite a revolutionary substance.

I guess I can't post prices, but in my opinion, it cheap enough to use when you need the extra time, but too expensive to use if you just want to full around after hours.

its funny that i used to get offers from overseas
pharms to buy the stuff all the time...

now that i could actually use the stuff, they
all dry up...

just an observation, dont f'in spam me...:)

Got a bottle of 30 200mg tabs sitting in the medicine cabinet at home.:D

It's good shit but sometimes if I take it for too long I get some nasty headaches. Therefore I only take it when I really need it now and usually take 5 or 6 day breaks from the stuff.

Adrafinil (the older version of Modafinil) works well and can be found and ordered from overseas very cheaply.

Yesterday was the first time I tried it. Basically, I skipped a night's sleep and felt normal the next day. I should've gone for night #2, as that would be a better test. I woke up at ~1pm on Sunday, and went to sleep at ~2am on Tuesday = ~ 36 hours.

My mind felt sharp throughout, but around some of the sleep hours, I was really tired and I felt that if I closed my eyes, I would fall asleep. (probably should up the dosage a little, or take with greater frequency.)

I don't really plan on taking more in the future per se, but it looks like it works without any side effects so it would be useful to have on hand. I can definately see the benefits of using it.

It isn't too scary. It stimulates mainly the hypothalamic instead of dopaminegeric system like amphetamines, so it has little effect on blood pressure, body temp, and heart rate. It isn't particularly liver toxic either.

I don't think there are any notable _known_ negative side effects of Medafinil. This could be because it acts directly on your brain and our knowledge of the brain is still quite limited. But I'll take my chances... It is FDA approved and the military issues it to their pilots. In the private sector, it is also prescribed to people with critical professions, like doctors, EMTs, etc...

I would never take any of the crap college students take to stay awake. Medafinil just moderates your desire to sleep. If you are on it and you lie down and want to sleep, you can still fall asleep without a problem. But if you are on it and don't want to fall asleep, you can stay awake...
