Swole, they're cute, not the brightest bulbs in the box BUT they do bounce when they walk off the top of desks, kinda funny, they roll into a ball no matter what, so they're like walking Foosh balls (and they DO walk off the top of things by the way).

They are considered exotic animals, and as such are governed by different laws from dogs or cats. They are not legal to own in several states, in other states you are required to obtain a special license to purchase one.

I owned/bred/rescued ferrets for years and I can honestly tell you one of the best ways to get involved in exotic animals is through a rescue organization because they're willing to: 1) Take the time to match YOU to the animal; 2) Make sure that a hedgie would be an appropriate pet for YOU; 3) make sure you have ALL the equipment you need to properly care for your new pet and 4) make sure you're educated ON the proper care of your new pet, will help you find a vet who knows how to care for an exotic, and will usually be available down the road for support when you have an "OH MY GOD!" question -- trust me, you will have one sooner or later.

I probably overloaded you with info., but in years gone by I had a table at exotic pet expos and used to give free talks about the care and ownership of ferrets. It still comes out occasionally
