Just got done listening to Live at the Apollo: Vol 2 (with a 20minute version of "This is a Man's World" - SICK!). That dude was ugly as sin, but had the girls in that club SCREAMING with every word. I bet he put on a great show.

I love the coloreds.

I'm old enough to not only have seen many of these classic entertainers, but to have seen them in their prime.

Each was an original, like James Brown and could light up an audience.

People were hungry to lose their inhibitions and be swept away by the talent.

James Brown had "moves" and bits that were so original and unique that it was stunning. Same with Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johny Cash, Ike and Tina Turner, the Beatles, the Who and the Stones.

Rock shows would have over 6 different acts. Was really something to see.

I would give anything to go back and see James Brown, Jimi Hendrix and Sinatra in their prime

I saw him several times, but never on stage. He lived in Beach Island SC, about 50 miles from me. Use to see him all the time in the town of Aiken. Of course the last few times I saw him, he was in court. :freak:

When we were in the Georgia State Pen together, James Brown used to sing in the showers every morning.

One of my favorites. Saw him live on 6th St in Austin back in '84.

You want to hear a great Christmas Album? Go to Amazon and get the James Brown Christmas. It is a compilation of his Christmas stuff from 66, 68 and 70. AWESOME.
