Hey bros,

Just wondering if any of you have experience Carpel Tunnel Syndrome from excess lifting or doing any kind of factory, and if so, did u have surgery or did it finally go away or what. I have just started getting symptoms of CTS about a week and a half ago, and I plan to see a DR this week of course, but I just wanted some opinions from others about the condition and if surgery is a first or last resort.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is the layman's term for median nerve compression; usually caused by repetitive wrist/hand motions. It can be exacerbated by AAS use-possibly thought to be due to the water retention under the carpal sheath causing more pressure against the nerves. Mine was so bad, that if I slept on it wrong, my hand would go to sleep and I could not feel anything for hours. I went to get nerve conduction studies which confirmed the diagnosis. Almost had surgery and then tried Motrin 800mg TID and started using wrist splints at night (also put in one of those ergonomic keyboards which also helped). Anyway, it went away after about 2 weeks so now I've cancelled the surgery.

yep, my right hand. not from lifting though :)

j/k

on a serious note, my grandfather had the surgury and he recovered relitively fast. but he did not workout
