wow. my complexion went from bad to MUCH WORSE after a 9 days of using Retin-A Micro. i neck is dry red and scaly all day. my face looks like i'm mildy sunburnt. half my face is dry as hell, the other half is oily like NEVER before. and my whole face itches. christ i hope things start to get better soon. i hear these sides clear up after the first couple weeks... i hope so!

Do you spread it all over? You're supposed to apply it only to problem areas.
Anyway, I have a tube of the stuff at home, but I'm not using it. Differin gel with some weak antibiotic works much better, IMO.

Retin-A made my face look like a brillo pad. It was awful. I guess some people like it, but everyone looked at me like - WTF??

But, then again, they do that anyway . . .

:)

I always thought Retin A basically just did a slow chemical burn on your face to get rid of the acne. At least that is what I saw with peeps in school.

my derm said that this was common for the first few weeks, that my skin would be irrated and would probably get worse before it got better. i just hope to god she's right! cuz i look like absolute shit and this sucks!

I have used it, and Renova, but in reality its all about the pills.
Topical creams just never seem to cut it, but some sort of
antibiotic, thats where its at.

your dermo needs to decrease the concentration of your script. If you get too irritated by R.A. micro, you can actually fk up your skin tone permanently. Used correctly it's a great product. I would never recommend it until "acne" is minimal though. When applied to active acne (IMO) it actually irritates more.

Your are experiencing all the INITIAL common side effects. That's usually the case with Retin-A, you get worse before you get better. Many people experience that.

It's a long-term treatment, which is why they say after about 3 MONTHS is when you will start noticing things. Just have faith and stick it out. You should start to get better and things should improve.

Only apply it ONCE a day, preferably at night. Stay out of the sun as well and do NOT use other harsh products on your face. Are you using anything else to clean your face?

There are 3 concentrations if I'm not mistaken.... 0.01% (weakest), 0.025% (middle strength), and 0.05% (strongest). Which one are you using?

Also, MANY people report that the GEL form works A LOT better than the cream. I have been using the 0.025% GEL form for about 6 months now. Doing good I like it a lot!

Well, I am going to put you on my IDIOT list !

You ever read the instructions list for that medication ? Dumb fuck.

i'm using the .04%

and who are you putting on this idiot list? you can lick my balls if you were referring to me...

I'm on the .1% and lightly dab my face in 3 places with it. Then rub it in evenly. First time, i put too much in one spot and burned my skin. After that lightly applied it and evenly on my face....

You are only suppose to use a very small amont to cover your face, like a green pea size amount of it. And your face should be very dry before you apply it, wait at least 30 min. after you wash your face. Every oneI know who has used it has had their face get worse before it gets better.
