Who here likes to line em up on the occasional deserted road?

I haven't been to the races in a while, but I am getting the itch to again.
 
Ford 5.0 w/ GT40 heads and intake. Mustang 5 speed, T-bird rearend, and hubs. About 350 HP. Other than the dual exhaust, five bolt wheels and the "wrong" sound coming form a Miata, you can't tell. THEULTIMATE SLEEPER.

Yeah I have seen a couple of those "funny sounding miatas" Doesn't that weight in the front throw off your handling a lot?
 
No, the 5.0 only weighs aboust 75 lbs more than the original motor. I actually think it handels a little better but the suspension has been modified a bit

Those Moster Miata's are pretty nuts... I remember the first one I saw on Road & Track in 1997 and it waxed the Corvette Zr1. Allot of HP in that little car :p
 
I was supposed to be getting an R6 this summer, but than i got laid off, and have to save my pennies. When I get a job again, you KNOW I wanna be out there corner carving.
 
I have not found anything street legal with four wheels that can catch it in a straight line or on a road course. Every now and then I talk about getting rid of it but my 8 year old daughter thinks it is hers. Now thats scary.

All the fastest times at road courses are done in cars. A car can be set up to handle better than any bike ever could.


What courses has your miata been to??

I have gone to Laguna Seca, Thunderhill, and buttonwillow here California
 
I will be racing as soon as I get outta school, start making money, and sell this stone of a Chevelle I got.
Speaking of sleepers, my buddy has a Shelby Omni that runs mid 13's, not very fast but its enough to beat the guys driving the 5.0s (stock or lightly modded) and the Civics and shit. You should see the look on the face of a Mustang driver when they get beat by a grandma car.
 
Not much in my area. Texas World Speedway is nearby and is where I normally go. I have been on the Texas Motorsports speedway (or what the hell ever it is called) in Dallas. I would love to run at some place like Luguna or maybe the Medowlands in New ???. don't have time to travel that much. When I do, my wife doesn't particularly want to go to racetracks. She preferrs the Bahamas. Lifes a bitch sometimes. Going to Crash. Catch ya'll later.

Count me in- I like drag racing, but my real love is road courses- Laguna Seca 7 Sears point- currently using a 93 TT Rx7- my best 1/4 is in the high 12's.

Bro, I got you all wrong! I am the biggest car nut in the world!!! I have a 69 Nova with a BBC 427.. it also has a few things done to it. It runs 7.39 if I have a good react time!!
I love drag racing!!!

Yes I drag race, bench 365 and squat 500+. Not all lawyers are pussys. Especially prosecutors. I have had my share of muscle cars: 1967 Camaro w/ 327, 1969 camaro W/ 427 tri-power, 1971 Corvette conv. W/ 427 tri-power, four speed, 1979 Chevy 4X4 with a blown 500 cui motor. I out ran every cop in town during high school and most of college. Should have seen there fucking faces when I came back home to be their DA. In addition to the Miata above, I currently own a Ford F-250 superduty w/ V10. I have just ordered a supercharger for it. should bump HP to about 450 with the after market exhust. Even asshole prosecutors need toys too!!!
