If so post here.. I need to ask you an important question.

come on, i need some help here (no i don't need weed)

well here is the question.

I'm going to B.C. in March.. specifically Whistler.. and last time i was there i got ripped off.. I paid $60 American for an 8th.. I want to know what the going price in Canadian dollars is for an 8th, a 1/4, and a half oz of B.C.'s finest bud.

A. Depends on the time of year
B. Depends on the strain (romulan, skunk, sage, grapefruit, bigbud (ick))
C. Indoor/outdoor
D. Location

You got ripped as you are well aware. For an 8th of rocket pot/wheelchair pot you should be looking at 40-60 buck CANADIAN in Vancouver. Wow! I guess even the dope is expensive in Whistler..lol!

In regards to our laws <sigh> yes, it is STILL ILLEGAL in Canada to possess/smoke/cultivate or make love to marijuana. There is an initiative in Parliment to make possession UNDER 15 grams of pot a ticketable (non-criminal) offence. HOWEVER, this is a carrot on a stick to placate folks. The rest of the proposed "Decriminalization Bill" is JUST AS DRACONIAN as it is in the US. Mandatory minimum sentances for over 15 grams/cultivation/etc.

Basically the US's little "drug war" czars put pressure on our minister of justice to make the laws ridiculously harsher and not allow for a judge's leniency in any situation. Currently that is the case in Canada. Our judicial system and it's judges have decided that smoking/growing/possessing pot for personal/rec use is a minor issue and wastes the court's time. This has pissed of the DEA and the ONDCP in the US and pressure has come to bear on our justice minister to "get in line with the US". So much for our soveriegnty.

Until then, getting busted (depending on location) in Vancouver, Ontario, or Quebec with 1/8-1/2 ounce wouldn't even land you in court. And currently there is no basis for issuing a ticket. Now if you're in Nova Scotia, or Alberta that's basically the worst places to get caught.

If I was in Vancouver, I'd feel very comfortable walking down the street downtown smokin a doobie just like a cigarette. Hell every time I'm on the ferry to the island there's someone smokin a doob outside on the rail anyway.

What the Canadian LEOs are most concerned about is the commercial level grow ops, and distributors, and priority to the export industry (cause it pisses the republicans off in the US).

Dem's da facts dude.

P.S. I don't smoke the shit, I just advocate it.

quality post man! Thanks a lot. I'll hit you with some karma this evening.

Luck to you in Van!

Be sure to stay at one of the weed friendly B&B's in Vancouver. There's a link to one of the finer B&B's if you google "The Amsterdam"+Vancouver. Lady that runs it also runs a seed business. She's also smokin "Hot". Another B&B that's smoke friendly is the Sativa Sisters (I'm not sure if they are still in business though). Easy to find on the Web. Not to mention, if the people there cant tell you where to find some weed safely, there's none in town (as if that would ever happen in Vansterdam).

East Hastings street, although partially a run down shit hole in Vancouver, is home to such wonderful shops (with some serious class) as the Blunt Brothers, Amsterdam Cafe, and a few others (one was just busted for selling high quality weed over the counter for 10 bucks a gram (Cnd). Warn you though once you get past the Banks and Blunt Bros. the area turns to needle-ville.
