Guys, I need SERIOUS help with some College Algebra Tests. I got the instructor to give me a few take home tests because of my work schedules. Can someone help me out?? I'd REALLY appreciate it!!! Help!!!!!!

Thanks Kayne! Actually, it's pretty easy stuff. I have a mental block when it comes to Algebra. Here it is.
1.) If the median age of a car in the US in 1990 was 5.87 years old and in 2000 was 8.2 years, what will be the median age of a car in 2010?
2.) A+ Rent A Car rents cars for $35 per day plus 10 cents a mile. How many miles can Terry drive the car if her budget for the rental is $105?
3.) Sony Electronics uses the function V(t)=-2000T + 37500 to determine the salvage value of a micro chip processor. What will be the year that the salvage value of the processor will be zero?
4.) Let g(x)=3x - 6 find
g(2)
5.) What is the domain of f?
f(x)= 5/ (x-6)
6.) Let h(x)= x to the 2nd power + 1 find;
h(-4)=
7.)Let f(x)=5 + x and g(x)=6-2x
a.)Find f(2) + g(2)
b.)Find (f multiplied g) (-4)
8.) Determine the domain of f/g where f(x)= 2x to the third power

1) I forget what the median is again but I think that this is too straight forward that you don't even need to know.
8.2 + (8.2-5.87) = ?
2) (105 - 35) / 0.1
3) 0 = -2000T + 37500 , find T , c#mon Bro ,u can do that!
4) 3(2) - 6 = ?
5) ok , you need to think about when f(x) is real , the only time this CANNOT happen is when you get dividision by zero (we'll ignore square roots of negatives i.e. complex nos.)
So when do you get division by zero?
6)(-4^2) +1
7) a. (5 + 2) + (6-4)
b. RickCorso is probably right , you want the composite function
in which case it is 5 + (6- (2 *-4))
8)Once again , when is the divisor 0?

Thanks, Rick and Mandinka!! Believe it or not, I can get straight A's & B's in Abnormal Psychology, English, English, Sociology courses. But, when it comes to Algebra or Trigonometry, I completely shutdown. It SUCKS!!

X - Y = 52 From here..... Y = X - 52
Therefore, X + ( X -52) = -42
2X = 10, X = 5.........and Y = -47
First number is 5 and the second is -47

X = 31 So therefore, Y = 40 - 31 = 9
31 solid colour neckwarmers and 9 print ones.

Y = 4 - X
X - (4- X) = 2
2X = 6, so X =3 and Y = 1

6x-2y=2 y = 1/3X - 1
9x-3y=1 y = 1/3X - 1/3
18X - 6Y = 6
18X - 6Y = 2
You can't solve this system. The lines are parallel. They have the same slope.
5.)Solve
x+2y=6 y = 1/2x + 3
x=4-2y y = 1/2x + 2
Again, the lines are parallel(same slope). No solution.

X + Y = 20

Checking, 12.5 L(.18) + 7.5(.1) = 20(0.15)
2.25 + 0.75 = 3
3 = 3
So 12.5L of the Arctic Anti-freeze(18%) and 7.5L of the Frost no-more(10%).

X + Y = 30
.25x + .5y = 10.75

(b+a) (2x + x) + (3z + z) = 15
3x + 4z = 15
(c -2a) (-x - 2x) = -3 so, -3x = -3, so x =1
Also, 3x + 4z = 15, so 4z = 15 - 3(1) = 3. (z= 3)
x + y + z = 6, so y = 6 - 3 - 1 = 2
So, x =1 and y = 2 and z = 3.

I couldn't really tell you. I'm in grad school now. Its challenging enough(Hence why I omitted grad degrees from my original synopsis).
However, i have noticed a fair degree of discrepancy between grades in the US(Undergrad only) and those from Europe.
A 1st w/ Honours is considered > 75% in the UK. And thats the highest accolade you can get. Its is quite hard.

Hasn't Fonz been caught lying many times about his supposed accomplishments? I still remember the time he was trying to pass the international male pic as his own. This guy has supposedly been in special forces (not sure which country), is a nuclear scientist, pro-athlete, has lived in 10 different countries...the list goes on. I call bullshit on a lot of stuff Fonz says. I'm sure people still remember what kind of stuff he wrote way back, like 3 years ago. As for his education, I honestly do not think he has a higher level degree, atleast not in science. I remember reading many of his posts thinking "Does this guy really claim to have a degree in physics or something?" I seriously do not buy it. Remember, this is the internet. Anyone can quote studies and pass around ideas made elsewhere. A fucking janitor can become a steroid expert in the course of a few months, or atleast seem like one to most people. People pretend to be something they're not and create fake personalities. Happens all the time. Just some food for thought. Finished HS doing the fast-track system at 17 Graduated with 13 OAC's(Thats Grade 13 for you US folks). (OAC's have been phased out now btw in Canada). Did a foundation year at Oxford from 17-18(A Foundation Year is like 1st year University comprised of a panoply of subjects.
Maths/Physics/Economics/Biology/Chemistry/Business/ and 3 languages...spanish/english/french) Then did a sandwich course(Bachelors and Masters all in one)(Aerospace/Nuclear) from 18-23 in the UK....and started my second masters(Nuclear Physics) this year after a 6 month rest.
