Please don't put of video of awesome 6 year old kids or metal heads.
I'm talking about the God here.

Can you play the shuffle?

Bonham did not need a big kit to sound big.

And a lot of people can NOT duplicate the Bonham Shuffle that he does on fool in the.
rain.

Elements of note:
Double up on base beat
Doubles on the high hat
Ghost on the snare

Are we supposed to post a video of us playing the Bonzo shuffle? I can play it. It's not that hard. Of course I've been drumming since 5th grade. Check out the music section I posted pictures of my drumset in the "Do yo play a musical instrument?" thread.

You guys are forgetting Neil Peart who has a more legendary status than anyone you have posted so far(besides bonham).

O' Baterista, a grammy nominated performance:

Peart played in a Buddy Rich tribute concert with many a jazz drummer. Peart was the least talented of the bunch. Easily blown away by the talent there, even Steve Smith.

by the way Neil Peart is my God. I started writing poetry and song writing b/c of him
One day I should post my songs, but they are on tapes and have no idea how to get them to MP3

cuz he'd never played jazz before. If you've never played jazz, you aren't going to impress. Doesn't mean he is less talented. Jazz is the hardest shit to play, and the jazz drummers of old are by far the best guys, like BR, joe morello, etc.

Right after that BR session, Neil Peart started taking lessons from freddy gruber, learned the jazz techniques and can now play a much better jazz then back in 1994. A much better jazz.

Small kit v HUGE kit
tisk tisk

I have a HUGE kit! yum. you check out my photos over in the MUSCI section? They're blurry and stuff, and I'll get better pictures soon. I had some shows these last couple weeks. We don't have another one til the 4th, so I'l see if I can get some video of me playing. My kit is at the band's place, not at my house so it wil be hard to find some time to do it, I'll try.

you are so right he is a living legend. I just went to a concert here and he did a 10 minute solo. It was just as impressive as the first time i seen him. Bonham was amazing as well. Being so torked all the time help him. But to be able to do a 6min song in 16 time without a break takes skill beyond comprehension.

there are no doubles in this rythm. The rythm is based on the triplet. Four triplets in 4/4 time. The ghosted note on the snare is the second note in each triplet along with the back beat on 2 and 4. The hi hat rythm is the four triplets with a rest for the second note of each triplet. This is almost the same rythm that Jeff Porcaro used on Toto's Rosanna.

A double stroke would be two strokes with the value of one note.

Hey Cappy what exactly is 16 time?

who in hell died and made YOU the ultimate judge and arbiter of drummers, bitch? :mix:

lmao

Fuck yo couch, nigga. Buy a new one ya rich mutha fukka. I'm Rick James bitch!

The ultimte judge must be me. Who else could undertake such authority and power?

Buddy Rich is number 1. There's little to no dispute about this.

Shannon Larkin of Godsmack. Like a spider monkey behind the drums. Fast as hell
