, Im gonna have to say that it would probably taste like rotten asshole, but let me know. I really dont think that dextrose would make you break out, but if you have come to that conclusion then Im not going to argue with you, like you said, everyone is different. Heres the deal bro, I used dextrose/malto throughout the entire winter while bulking, probably around 6 months, when I started cutting up I was working with a friend that has his pro card and we were working on my diet. He explained to me that many of the competitors that he talks with really dont use the simple sugar approach post workout. He talked me into switching to oats. Last year while cutting I used dextrose/malto and Im almost done cutting right now and have been using the oats for the past 3.5 months. To be completely honest, I cant tell the difference, it definately helped me cut up better. Put it this way, I went with the exact same supps, AS, and the diet was very similar, I kept more strength this year and Im 10lbs heavier. Now the extra lbm I have this year is most likely do to the awesome job I did while bulking, and Im not saying that the oats worked better keeping muscle on while cutting, but I have come to the conclusion that they work just as well. Now I realize that most bros are going after the low glycemic, fast increase in sugar and insulin to drive the nutrients in, however, this, I feel is kind of over-rated, and after this intake of dextrose your insulin levels will be high for hours and consequently make us fat, especially when trying to tighten up.
Im probably going to stay with the oats even while bulking this upcoming winter, they fill me up better after my workout and Im thinking that they will help keep me a little leaner also. I know there are those on this board that swear by the simple sugar approach, but I have spoken with a few on this board that agree with me. I dont disagree that it works good, but personally I dont think it makes much of a difference, if any. The only thing Im going to do is maybe use gatorade for simple sugars rather than the dextrose/malto.
