i just stumbled upon these beauties...

i want to get as much info as possible because i am seriously considering purchasing one...

i've been playing paintball for years, and have all that equiptment, will the same gear apply to airsoft?

are they better then paintball guns? more range? accuracy, etc?

will it even be fair if i am using one of these things against guys with paintball guns?

what is a good make of a gun? my first paintball gun was a SPYDER i dont want to make the same mistake with a airsoft

I NEVER GOT TO USE THE HIGHER END WEAPONS IN BOTH SPORTS (difficult to get over here) but the air soft guns were wayyy more accurate IMHO....as i remember the paintballs wouldnt fly straight if there was a bit of wind....

Try doing a search on Google. I did that and got some good info.

I doubt Airsoft guns are legal in Canada (99% sure they're not), but damn I want an MP5 or a Mac10. How cool would that be?!

me, i would get into it but how? i don't want to spend $500 on a customized gun only to use it to shoot the dog (i doubt there are tournaments for miles from here, and if there are i doubt they are 'fun' with all the competetion).

i bought a gas powered, blowback 92F beretta pistol a couple days ago on the net. should get here in a few days.

Apparently, airsoft guns are legal in Canada! They're classified like paintball guns, so that means I can order one and have it shipped here from the US.

LOL @ Nord. Yeah, that would be funny for about 5 seconds...just enough time for the customs agents to pull out thier 9mm's and unload a dozen rounds or so.

seriously, most of the games played here in Ohio are outside and at distances that a handgun wouldn't be too accurate with. I'm looking at getting the steyr AUG this summer...........god I get a hardon looking at those things!!

mdd, why do you want a pistol so bad? The 18c with the upgrade is gonna set you back $250-$300. You can get a decent used SMG for that price off Ebay.

the average airsoft gun fires at 290 fps, about 1/3 the speed of a .22 bullet.

the average pellet gun fires at least 350, and can fire in the 500-900 fps range. your's was probably 800 fps or something.

an airsoft bullet is .20 grams. a pellet is .5 grams.

so no, they only go 1/3 as fast and weigh 2/5 as much. but the bullets are 6mm/.24 caliber in diameter.
