Ants

I've found ants in my ktichen. Not a crazy amount, but more than a few. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them.

I fucking hate seeing them running all over the counter.

Sounds like sugar ants. They are attracted to sugar or something sweet that has spilled somewhere in your house. They really don't bother anything but ant spray will work until you find what is attracting them to your house.

Hope it isn't fire ants!!!!!!! Then you have real trouble!

Fire ants are kind of small and some are bigger than others. They are mostly red but not fiery red...more brownish red. They get on you but you never feel them until they start biting the crap out of you.

They bite by gnawing in a circle. The bite site will blister up and itch like hell. Don't pop the blister though because their bite is sterile. It should heal on it's own. It's hard not to scratch it though. The blister hangs around for about two weeks.....sometimes longer.

Usually only found in the South....where I live.

Can you tell I have had several run-ins with them!?!........bastards!

Heres a little know trick that we used in our house to get rid of ants, when i were growing up.

first find out, where there coming from. Probably the baseboards near ur floor. Next, put a tiny row of turmeric around that. they wont cross it, because its a pungent spice.

You gotta kill the queen, do this and they will disband and die. Get some Raid or even insect repellant with Deet and make sure you get the long tube attachment to get it deep in the cracks...then...overkill. Spray every baseboard and cupboard and get under appliances real well, be sure to open windows afterward.
I hate ants!!!

ants are cool. We have coffe with a bunch of them every morning in the kitchen. They are quite funny really, nothing more then 3 BB sized balls with some legs. Hell i like them, especially when i see one drag a crum 10 tmes it's size, how funny.

they are really high in protein. they use to get in my cereal one year when i was in high school. after a while i accepted it, and i ended up gaining 20 pounds that year! just eat them, you'll thank me later.

I just had the same problem....

you never know where they come from, I bought a couple of those traps that you poke holes in with a key...put one in the pantry where I keep my dog food and some dry foods, two more under the counter one under the sink and one in another area...I then locked my dog in the upstairs bedroom and sprayed ant killer spray all around the floor and baseboards...haven't seen any since...*crosses fingers*..they were on my counters and floor the little bastards.

Terro Ant Killer. It's a poison you set on little cardboard squares on you counters. They hurl themselves into it. You can almost hear them screaming. Very entertaining.
