antibiotics and AS

can you be on both at the same time? I asked this question in my "EQ and sick as a dog thread" but didnt get a response regarding that particular ? so I'm asking again, hoping someone can shed some light on the topic.

I was told by a buddy of mine that being on antibiotics "negates," for lack of a better word, AS. is that true? should you stop AS use while on antibiotics and resume when done? anyone know?? thx!

agree with NYM theres no real interaction between antibiotics and AS they each do there own particular duty in the body and wont run into each other, however if the antibiotic were something which the liver had to breakdown and was harsh on the liver it might not be good to take a 17AA oral steroid along with it as your liver values could shoot thru the roof

Some antibiotics MAY reduce the absorption of oral AAS, but does not entirely negate them. Ampicillin, Tetracyline, Rifampin, Dilantin or carbamazepine are the ones to particularly watch out for. But none of these will have an effect on EQ availability since it's not an oral.
