remove your current version of AVG and then redownload it

Spybot Search and Destroy and Lavasoft Ad-Aware are free anti-spywares

search for them at download.com

ya AVG runs much smoother than Norton

www.avast.com for great virus protection that is for free all year long. spybot search and destroy like somebody mentioned. and you can go to www.ewido.com for free online virus scan

never heard of AVG's anti-spyware

definitely get Spybot & Destory and Lavasoft Ad-Aware instead

I run 3 diff anti-spywares and 2 registry tools

Spybot S&D is pretty good

You could do all of your browsing from a Linux Live-CD booted inside a VM. That should be fairly safe and still reasonably convenient.

i use AVG for virus and counterspy for spyware. i used to use adaware but its not finding ALL the latest spyware anymore even though its up to date. i got fed up with it so i found counterspy. awesome program imop. its free for 15 days but you can install a crack and not have to buy it.
