do you know any good anti-depressive medicine, that you don´t get pimpels or gyno from ? Is there any medicine for shyness ?
I am thinking about taking some medication because there is no authorised psychologist where i live.

read up on self help boards... use medicine as a last resort. Many lifestyles changes can have the same if not better effects than ssri's or any other happy pills.

anti -depressives are bad. mmmmmkay

once you get on them its alot harder to get off, and if you just STOP taking them they can seriously fuck you in the head.

So Stay away from unless you HAVE to.

They definitly have their place but I would talk to a pycholgist or a consulor first and see if it helps. Medicine may end up being the best option for you but don't make it your first option, you don't want to be chemically dependant if you have too. But if you have to, don't be scared of them. My father took paxil for a few years and then came off once he gained his confidence and composer back. Meds served a great purpose for him at the time and he didn't have much trouble coming off either. I know not all stories go so well but they might for you so don't get freaked out if you need to go on.

I'm on Wellbutrin Xl. My Dr. prescribed it to help me not be so damn sad all the time. Since, I've started working out, I've been feeling a whole lot better, but I would still get very upset over things I couldn't control. Imagine what I would go through just watching the news. Kleenex city. Anyway the Wellbutrin is helping me immensely. Spose to help with smoking cessation as well, but I've yet to notice that. I still think it's a good idea to talk to your dr. first, even a regular MD can prescribe anti-depressants, if they feel you will really benefit from them.

just remember, the reason they are so commonly prescribed is b/c insurance companies would rather pay $1 a pill than $500 a week for therapy. The results of good therapy should be more permanent, and more holistically healthy for your body. I would definitely exercise all options before taking anti-d's.
