One person is dead after a botched burglary attempt in Southeast Dallas. It all happened Thursday night on the 800 block of Dowdy Ferry Road.

A homeowner heard something in their backyard and went outside to investigate. That's when they saw a man trying to steal things from an outdoor shed.
The homeowner pulled a gun and shot the would-be robber. The burglar was dead by the time police arrived.

Investigators are looking into the incident today.

In Texas citizens have the right to shoot and kill anyone who tresspasses including police officers who enter their home without warrants. Grant it now days they are still going to take this to the grand jury but I doubt anything will come of this unless the faimly of the dead tries to sue for wrongfull death

the only people citizens in this state have no right to shoot are fed. agents because that law doesn't pertain to them. Or if cops are in pursuit of a suspect or enter for probable cause and identify their reasons for entering and who they are

I have never robbed anyone, thus I have not made this mistake. Not everyone makes these kind of mistakes. He learned his lesson. Well kinda. That is the problem here, no one wants to take personal responsibility for their actions. They want to blame others and try to act as if they are the victim.
