Another Newb Question.. Measure Cooked or Uncooked?

Ok, i might have been doing this wrong all along but oh well. When you're measuring out food.. ie. 8oz of Chicken Breast.. do you measure it raw, or do you measure it after cooking? I've always done it uncooked. Which is right?

Thanks

Usually says on the nutrition label whether the figures are for cooked or uncooked. Normally I see it say its for uncooked.

Yeah, it usually says on the label, but if it not, I'm fairly certain it's the raw weight. It would be too inaccurate for the nutrition label to list the cooked weight because the cooked weight would depend on how well cooked the food is. This is because the more well-cooked the food is (i.e. more well done), the more water it will lose, meaning the lighter it will be.

Well, I use www.fitday.com to track my food intake & protein/fat/carbs, etc...... Depending on the food you choose, you can choose either cooked or uncooked..... I personally usually eat 4-5 oz. of cooked chicken, etc per meal....
