Another dog question

I have two dogs- a German shepard female that is about 3yrs old and a pitbull male about 5 months old. So here's the question: I was planning on having the pit bull fixed in the next 2-3 months and was curious as to how this would affect his behaviour. I mention the other dog because when they are outside together they spend a fair amount of time playing ( by that I mean playfighting) and I dont want the pit to get serious and they end up hurting each other. I waas hoping some one would have some expierence with the breed and be able to answer the question.

They are supposed to get less aggressive after you have them fixed. I am not to sure of that because I have had three dogs two Rotts and one Spaniel and all three were fixed and all three were very aggressive.

I think your Shepard has probably already showed her dominance and has become the Alpha dog, even though she is a female. Often when one dog becomes the dominant dog early own the younger dog will always think that that older dog is always the dominant dog. Sometime the younger dog may try to change that but from what I have seen with the dogs I have had the younger dog always remains subordinate to the older dog, but that is just my experience. I have heard of other experiencing the opposite.

yeah that's the way its looking right now. I think she has established a fair amount of dominance over him - he will not go near her food bowl if she is around it. I just hope he never decides to test their roles. He is 5 months and is about 40 lbs so he should get to be pretty big.
