Another computer question...

I need to COMPLETELY remove McAfee sofware from my computer. Uninstall doesnt't work, add/remove progs. in control panel doesn't work, deleting all related files and folders doesn't work, no references to it in the registry either, but Norton 2006 won't let me install because of some reference to McAfee, but it does not specify which one.

Any ideas?

Post more info about why it wont uninstall..... in detail....

but if I had to guess....I think you'll find it is still running in the background when you are trying to uninstall it.
Disable it - Use MSCONFIG (W98/ME) or Startup-Cop (W95) to prevent McAfee from starting up when you boot up.
Reboot and try uninstalling then.

I did that dude...I blocked lots of shit from loading on startup, but for some reason, Norton is pissed about something. I loaded it up (Norton 2006) on another machine with no problems, so I don't think it's a bad disk or anything.

did you try safe mode???

reboot in safe-mode and try to uninstall and install.

I'll try that next...if not, I'll get on the horn with McAfuck tomorrow and ask them how to get it off of my machine.
