Animalbolics Works

OK, you guys have a spreadsheet to help you out. I just wanted to say, I have been following it for about 6 weeks now. I have lost 14 pounds, my LBM appears to be the same according to the calipers, and my strength has continued to increase the whole time. I was hungry during the day for the first few weeks, now its not bad. It works great for those of us at the office. You don't have to bring a ton of meals to work, and I have alot more energy during the day. I am not on any juice or PH's either. I say this diet is second only to CKD as far as quick results, BUT, its much easier to follow, and you aren't weak for most of the week.

Give it a shot!!!!

No, I try and eat a more "normal meal" somewhere around 33p/33c/33f. I try and stick to chicken, steak, potatoes, and veggies, but pizzas have been known to slip in there.

Here's my typical workout day meal and supplement routine:
Breakfast
1/3 cup protein blend (isolate/casein/milk or egg)
2 tbsp crushed Flax Seeds
1 tbsp Safflower Oil
Multi Vitamin
5g Pyruvate
2g CLA

Lunch
1 apple or orange
1 can tuna
2g CLA

Pre-Workout
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/3 cup protein blend (isolate/casein/milk or egg)
Multi Vitamin
5g Pyruvate
2g CLA

Post Workout Drink
90g Dextose maltodextrin Mix
45g Whey Isolate
Multi Vitamin
5g Pyruvate
10g Glutamine Peptides
5g Creatine

Dinner
3oz Chicken Breast
Baked Potatoe
3oz Cheddar Cheese
Mixed Veggies
4g CLA

Before Bed
5g Pyruvate
10g Glutamine Peptides

Rough Total
2452 cals
226g pro = 37%
216g carb = 35%
74g fat = 27%

Ture, you could go lower GI, but when you add in protein and fat to the meal, I don't know if a 10 point difference on the GI scale makes that much of a difference. However, if you have more willpower than me, you would probably get even better results eating lower GI carbs. Sometimes, if I feel I have been eating too many carbs, I just eat chicken and some snap peas, or a steak with green peppers and onions.

Potatoes have been bodybuilder diet foods for years and haven't failed them yet. Just because they are relatively high GI doesn't mean you won't burn fat on them. Do you think Arnold and the bodybuilders of that age used low-carb low GI diets? Of course not and they still came in shredded.

I think animalbolics is great if you stick to it, however I don't think there's anything magical about it. Insulin or not if you are eating in caloric deficit you will be burning fat. Personally I think insulin manipulation is more important when bulking as it will help ensure that your weight gain is mostly muscle. I know for a fact that if you were to eat a high GI carb like potatoes during each and every meal on a cutting diet you'd still burn plenty of fat. I know this because I've done it before. I'm not saying it's the best way but it still works because regardless if insulin is present or not you can't cheat the energy deficit. If you are eating below your BMR then those extra calories needed to sustain you have to come from somewhere.

True Vageta, I have dieted like that as well. Overall, you need to eat less calories than you use. But, I think controlling insulin and using it to your advantage helps you lose fat and keep alot more muslce and strength. This is not magic, but it works pretty damn well IMHO.

anything that works is "magic" imo lol

Growin, at least you understand that you can lose fat with or without insulin present. I agree that manipulating insulin to your advantage can have some superior results, I am personally doing it as well just differently than Animalbolics. My main point is that so many people who don't know jack about dieting read about these diets and instantly think it's the only way to lose fat. They get brainwashed into thinking that if there is a drop of insulin present then their fat burning grinds to a halt. This is why low-carb diets are all the rage right now. We both know this isn't true but there are many that don't realize it.

animalbolics does work but dont make the same mistake i did, i was getting excellent cuts then i decided to cut carbs even further then cut carbs even more and more when instead i should have just got my punk ass out side to do cardio, i had that six pack but i wanted to get ripped so i cut carbs way to low., then thats where i screwed up and binged out for a whole week. so from what ive learned stick with a decent amount of carbs post workout like around200-300 dont go much lower then add in some high intensity cardio
