actually this isn't microsoft's fault on this one. Netscape were dipshits and didn't support the actual standard and did too many things that were non compliant.

IE when it sees something it doesn't recognise, it just ignores it and tries to render the page the best it can anyway.
Netscape freaks out and breaks if it doesn't see something it likes.

the newest netscape 6 and mozilla are slightly better, but still a whole lotta suck

Netscape is the worst browser ever!!!! IE is much more user friendly.
