Lowered HDL = arterial plaque accumulation = accelerated Coronary Artery Disease = eventually Angina &/or Heart Attack &/or Bypass Surgery &/or Angioplasty.
This is real, and its permamnent (for now anyway- they have an experimental drug that may clear plaque).
The HDL levels return to normal after you stop the var, but the damage done remains. forever. until you die.
Its amazing how hair loss and bloating are apparantly more troubling to the majority of BBS posters than Coronary Artery Disease.
all AAS have the warning re lowered HDL, but Var is one of the worst for clobbering HDL levels if not THE worst of the commonly used AASs.
search here on HDL, Cholesterol, garlic, niacin, policosanol, guggulsterones (sp?) and usernames Fonz, DRveejay (partial), geoboy for lots of stuff on this.
