Anavar and thyroid question- Sassy or Daisey

Do you fitness experts know if taking 5mg of Anavar twice a day halts thyroid production? Iam on Synthyroid (.150mg) and since being on Anavar I have gained weight and my body temp is only 95-96 degrees during the day. I love the tight, hard vascular look of Anavar, but am worried about the symtoms of low thyroid. Any thoughts?????

I will defer to Daisy on this as I am not an expert or student of thyroid conditions.

Can you include some detail about how long you have been / plan to cycle the 10 mg var ED? What is your weight gain / bodyfat change since on it?

You are a very brave soul seeking medical advice here. WOW! Have you read any of the other stuff in this forum?

When do you take your body temp? Is it first thing upon waking BEFORE you move?

Define "gaining weight" ..... is it BF - meaning, are you getting BF% done regularly? You say you like the "tight hard look" - that doesn't sound like you are gaining FAT.

Var should not affect Thyoid, but individual mileage may vary. Best bet would be to get your levels checked and see if they have changed. Just tell your doctor what you are noticing (feel like you are gaining weight, low body temp) and ask if you can get re-checked NOW.

Here is a clue genius. STAY OFF THE WOMEN'S BOARD IF YOU CANNOT HELP SOMEONE.

Nobody here is suggesting advice given here takes the place of a doctor. But you CAN ask for medical advice. Most people on the Women's Board will give very good, relevant advice - even though we are not MDs.

I am not sure you could be any more stupid and useless.

i'm helping her a great deal by telling her to be very careful with the advice she receives here. call that stupid? OK!

Thanks for your opinions. I have not had my BF checked yet, I have been on cycle for about a month- and have gained 4 pds- I feel like I look "thick"in the legs and hips. I plan on staying on for another 4 weeks. I took my temp throughout the day and it was constantly between 95-96. I feel like my metabolism slowed a bit since on Anavar, but yet my arms look vascular. Weird, but thought I would ask your thoughts.

Dude based on all the red karma you bring with you, I don't think you are really bringing anything positive to this board.

Temps taken troughout the day are pretty irrelevant. Your temp can cary based off SO many factors - food, water, stress, workouts, etc. The only useful temp is the one taken DIRECTLY after waking up. Try that for a few days and see what you get. Literally, you cannot move (other than to reach for the thermo next to the bed).

What do you mean you feel your metabolism has slowed? How are you feeling different?

As far as feeling thicker - could it be bloat or water retention?

The only true way to measure progress is consistent BF checks.

I still think you should get the TSH levels checked asap. If levels are changing, you need to go off Var NOW.
