Anamorphic is enhanced for rectangled screen TV's, which eventually everyone will have, because any other type of TV will be obselete. Anyhow...
Any DVD player that was made to be used in North America, will play any DVD within your region code, which for North America is 1. Some older DVD's, and some newer ones, only have the regular view which we are used to....some DVD's have both views....the regular view and the anamorphic view....there are technical names for these, which I don't know....hehe....some DVD's we have on one side is the regular view, if you flip it over, it has the anamorphic view.....or other DVD's have 2 DVD's in the case, one has one view, the other has the other...EG. Shrek has 2 DVD's in the case, one with each view...
There isn't a DVD player that strictly plays only anamophic DVD's.
