An apology

Just got an e-mail from flexed1, which was forwarded from George. It detailed the overall standards and criteria for topics that will not be tolerated and this edited or deleted.

Flexed1 was well within his power to edit those posts as they fit the description of unacceptable material.

I guess we should all read the 'Acceptable Use Policy" thingy when we signed up for an account here

From the verbage of the letter from George to Flexed1, I'd have to say the guidelines were laid out for him.

The Really right thing to do is to mix the guidelines from George with how the board was (until now) run. The chat board has never really seen much editing or deleting of posts.

But it's a hard line to draw and having seen the e-mail (which he or I could forward) I'll back him up on it.

Bearded Clam - Just because the old moderators did not do it, doesn't mean it did not need to be done. Johnny O often locked threads when they got out of hand, but he was also very lient letting people speak their minds. Some of what was posted by people were not things that should have been said. If someone had used that language and expressed view points in public like that, they would have had their asses kicked on the spot by those "faggots" and "niggers" that the racist posts have been about. I do not think it is fair to have a discussion board invaded by people with racist or hatred agendas. If you do not like one member because he is black or gay, that is fine. But to project your prejudice on an entire race of people with the same skin or sexuality in common is not acceptable. These little keyboard nazis need to grow up and come visit the real world. This is not the 30's anymore.

Flexed was well within rights to put his foot down and I for one am glad he did. Congrats flexed.

I couldn't care less if someone called me a faggot. I like this board for several reasons. One of them being that it is provocative. Once you begin to limit freedom of thought and expression, we'll all become as bland and boring as you.

May - for someone else to be called bland and boring by someone who is one dimensional in the way they present themselves and who doesn't have a life outside a chat board is quite hypocritical.

Also, for someone who doesn't want to limit speech or freedom, you JUST made a post to Flexed1 in another thread asking for SG's posting to be edited. That sounds quite two faced.
