Some anonymous guy just called my house and asked for me. He then told me he found my wallet with $203 in it and that it had my name in the wallet along with a couple other misc. business cards. He said he was taking it to a nearby police station. WTF? Anyone ever been schooled like this by local PD? I told him it wasn't my money and he said "oh o.k".

this does remind me of a time i had lost my wallet one night, i had came home from a club and had roughly 500 bucks in it. woke up the next day and destroyed my entire apartment looking for it, had credit cards, everythign in it and all that cash. that evening about 6pm a man knocked on my door and said he found it walking his dog at 5am..........not a dime missing!

i didn't lose my wallet. The guy sounded like he's from New Orleans. WTF. Not sure what to think here and I'm not sure if I should clean up my place. It could even be a con artist trying to see if i was home or something. I don't sell and only use for personal consumption. Doesn't LE usually strike while the iron is hot right after the delivery? Reason I ask is it's been a few days.

hey new my first name and last initial. Interesting huh? After thinking about it here is what troubles me most is that he said he was taking it to the police dept. where i could pick it up. Even it his story was true and there was a wallet (which wasn't mine) why would he not want to meet me and give it to me personally? That is what made me so f'n paranoid. Like i said, maybe some con artist just wanted to see if i was at home. I'm running security and have a rott so i'm not terribly worried.

yep and call the police when your clean and tell them
if it a con they need to know
if your in trouble it will make you look honest

find a place in your house that will be difficult to find
under insulation in your attic
remove medicine cabnet in bathroom and tie to string lower into wall
things like that but obviously not exactly that

if you leave your house with the gear your in danger

if i thought i was under suspicion id hide it in my house where they would have to tear my house down and sift the rubble to find it.

yeah i'm over it. . My main initiate was to see if this was an attempt for LE to bust me. I guess these aren't standard practices so i shouldn' t be worried. I'm clean now anyway. Someone can delete this thread now please..

Yeah does not sound like a sting for anything. A scam maybe who knows. Maybe someone with your same name or who stole your identity? Who knows!

maybe he was a transvestite that is into beastiality and he saw ur dog and thought it was cute... he was trying to lure you out of your house so he could rape the dog... hhhmmm

this reminds me of a somewhat similar situation that happened to me about a month ago but slightly different. It was 1pm in the afternoon and I was sleeping because I work nights. Well, my brother comes to wake me up and told me a guy just stopped by the house and asked if I was there (he knew my name) and my bro obviously said no or something of that nature, and the guy told him someone from the place he works told him I needed a ride to work, when I dont even work where the guy said. Fucked up, to this day I dont know who it was or what was going on. My bro said it was some bald dude with a goatee. just plain fucked up.
