Hi there,

I'm been spending many hours reading all the excellent articles in this forum. And i've to admit i learnt so much in those few hours.

I've a question about my eating habits which i hope you guys can help me out with.

I'm 5/10, 150lbs and i've been training seriously for abt 3 months.
I'm not sure about my exact bf% but i carry most of it around my chest, abs and butt.

I train 3 times a week.

Day 1
-------
back/bicep/abs

Day 2
-------
chest/tri/f-arms

Day 3
-------
legs/shoulders/abs

I hit each body part hard, 2-3 sets(6-8 reps). Legs/f-arms 3-4 sets (15-20 reps)

I'm been reading crums article about losing fat while maintaining muscle. Its one hell of an fantastic thread. I'm doing the moderate plan at the moment since i need to add more mass to my frame.

So its basically carbs/pro for first 3 meals and pro/fats for the last 3. How much more carbs should i consume to ensure that i'm getting enough for bulking up? I'm downing about 40g of protein per meal so i guess i'm covered protein wise.

I'm afraid of eating too much for fear of gaining fat and too little which can lead to no muscle gains.

What do you guys suggest?

Thanks

hey bro,
Im not a pro, but ive experimented with a ton of diets. Dieting can get so specific and your body type plays a big role in it. However i can tell you a few common sense things of what to stay away from. Juice and soda is bad news, way too much sugar. Also gatorade is just sugar water, water is the best drink. When im cutting down i eat fibrous carbs at dinne r such as salads, green beans etc. I stop eating starchs such as breads and pastas at about 4 p.m. This is for cutting down now. divide your meals into 6 meals per day eating every 2.5 to three hours. Usuall y it looks like this

breakfast
protein supp.
lunch
protein supp
dinner
small carb free snack(protein shake, cottage cheese etc)

If you want to lose fat your most likely not going to able to gain any muscle, but if you want to gain muscle then your going to have to accept a little fat. Everything you have looks good.

Good luck.
