Alchohol and Steroids ???

I know a thread on this recently came up, but I can't seem to find it.

What is the general thought about alchohol while on AS? I understand that alchohol will add a measure of stress on an already stressed liver if you're on orals, but does this mean you need to be an absolute T-totaller?

E.g., is a glass of wine or a single beer with a meal a few times a week a problem, or do you just need to avoid heavy drinking (if that's one of your pastimes) while on AS?

you could have one or two with a meal or you could just skip the orals altogether or just keep the orals to a minimum also

It depends on the amount of AAS and what kind of AAS!
Even while injecting there are some products that you should not drink w/.

Personally when im on AAS i dont drink at all. Some ppl feel that a glass of wine or a beer w/ dinner is ok. But thats the limit. And not everyday.

I woudn't touch alcohol if I was on something as toxic to the liver as D-bol, but I'd say the occasional drink while on test wouldn't add too much more strain. I would definitely stay away from binge drinking, and never think of it. I know this is hard for some newbies to AAS, who are still students and make full time jobs out of burning up brain cells. Just be mindful of what you're doing. You sound like you're already hesitant to drink, which is a good quality to start with.

that was my thread that came up a while ago. what i learned from that is.............you're really better off with no alcohol. alcohol will fuck up your gains. if you're using a 17aa, youre liver is already dealing with one toxic substance.

I quit drinking for any cycle whether it be 17aa or test and the difference is night and day. My gains are a lot leaner and better quality, whenever I drank while on it would bloat the hell out of me!

Sorry, but I am not one of those guys that can just have one beer so unfortunately I had to quit completely.

What the hell is the point of a glass of wine or a beer with dinner? When I would drink I would do it right and get rip roaring drunk. That's probably why I don't drink anymore though. To answer your question, AAS and alcohol is counterproductive. Moderation never made any sense to me but if you're set on drinking keep it to a minimum or you will hinder your gains.

Aside from liver issues...

Alcohol inhibits protein synthesis.

When you are on a cycle, you are attempting to accelerate protein synthesis.

Alcohol limits the effectiveness of your cycle.

the man knows his stuff :)

I'm on test/eq and drink like a fish on the weekends. Not bragging about it or encouraging it but like Juice Authority said, what's the point of "A" glass of wine or "A" beer? I say all or none, and I'm still in the all category! :freak: :drink2:

I'm in the "all", with ya....but drink about 2 gallons of water daily, consistently!!!

AGUA AGUA............

So the conventional wisdom (or wive's tale) that a glass of red wine with a meal improves digestion and may reduce cholesterol is bogus?

I'm on test/eq and drink like a fish on the weekends.

I have done the same cylce before and was out drinking everyweekend. Figured, it was my reward for hard week of work. But noticed my Monday(Squat) workouts were suffering, and it went into my Tuesday(Chest) workout. Maybe it was an age thing, the hang-overs get worse/longer to recover from. And the diet was hard as hell to keep on track. After a night of drinking I wanted comfort food... chicken/brown rice just didn't have appeal over PIZZA.

It wasn't until I did a cycle without drinking that I realized just how much I was cheating myself. When drinking I still made gains, but they weren't quality/lean gains that I make when I don't drink. The difference is night and day. Post cycle is already a bitch, and if you haven't conditioned yourself not to drink more than likely will continue drinking through recovery. Losing all your gains and then some, seen to many bros go down this road.
