Sorry if I am in the wrong section but my question is what phase do you use ALA? Cutting or bulking? Can it be used even when carbs are from vegetable sources only and less than 50gms a day?

it's can be used regardless of your goals. It aids in glucose uptake and basically allows your body to more accurately process carbs as an effective energy source. If you are on 50gms of vege carbs.. then most of those are probably fibrous. If you were on 50 g's of net carbs, then I think it could still be effective at a small dose. It also has powerful anti-oxidant qualities.
 
Thank you for your reply! Do you find it gives you an energy boost? I was going to take it before bed but after reading its function I am not sure this is the best time. - (I eat right before bed)
 
I did not personally see any energy boost from ALA/R+, per se...However, I'm taking other supplements that give energy so that is the reason I don't notice any. Even when I'm not working out and take ALA/R+, I still do not see any boost...

300mg ALA = 30-40g carbs
100mg R-ALA = 30-40g carbs
 
Thanks for your response. Can I buy RALA in stores? Also when is the best time to take ALA - with a meal?
 
I've only seen R-ALA online, although it might be available in stores by now. Regular ALA can be purchased even at WalMart, though. Best time to take both is with carb meals. :)
