ALA FAQ Anyone?

There is so much contradicting information of ALA, that I think a decent legit objective ALA FAQ is inevitably important.

I still don't know if ALA can make my fat while on a normal (NOT keto) Carbs/Protein/Fat diet. I strated taking ALA a few days ago and suddenly read of some folks down here (trusted ones) that experienced fat deposits. I'm in absolutly NO FUCKING way willing to sacrifice my hard earned 9% BF which took me a torturing amount of aerobic activity to achieve for something as ALA.

I thought ALA works only in one way - reducing fat, now I hear that in certain (even rare) cases it can cause fat gains. I am NOT on a Keto diet, I do eat carbs (mainly complex), fats and protein and my diet is a ok.

Do you think I should risk taking ALA on every meal?

No ALA won't make you fat. You get that from eating chips and being lazy.

So your objective is to loose fat with ALA. Whats yor dosage per day.

ALA works similar to insulin, so you really should eat it with your meals with carbs. If your meal is only protien and fat, then skip the ALA - unless maybe if you were doing a keto diet, which you said you weren't.

What would be the benefit of taking ALA on a keto-diet?

It would allow you to get into a Keto state more quickly by allowing your body's insulin to be more effective. The glucose that is present will be utilized more quickly, which will make you get into a Ketogenic state faster.

This would be especially usefull if doing a CKD.

Ketosis = Zero glucose stored in liver, which causes body to use ketones for energy.

Usually when you eat any carbs on a keto diet, you risk falling out of ketosis. By taking ALA with those carbs, they will be shuttled out of your bloodstream and also not stored in your liver.

Thus you will stay in ketosis even though you ate some carbs. ALA won't erase a ton of carbs, but it's definately an invaluable tool for this type of diet. Make these diet much easier.

So we are suppose to take ALA with a high protein meal?

What about a meal with fat in it as well, like an omelete?

i may be wrong here but pretty sure that ala should be taken with any meals containing more than 30g of carbs.

So.. There is no benefit if i'm just trying to cut on a normal NON ckd/keto diet ?

As I said, I am terrified as hell of fat deposits, and Fraktal once reported getting FAT from using ALA.
