Advise Please

Im having to go International because my domestic source has fallen off the map. my question is, seems most/ all sources I have contacted has 2 shipping methods. Registered or Unregistered. Of course registered is hands down the best because of insurance, time frame and tracking . My main concern is registered mail has to be signed for. I have NEVER had to sign for any gear before . I guess my question would be if I went registered and customs/ law found what was in my package when I signed for it at the post office could/ would I automatically be saying I was guilty? I have no clue how the seizure thing works, I need help to ease my mind on this.
