adding your site to major search engines

what is the fastest and easiest way to add my site to all of the major search engines.

oh yeah, it must be free.

think you have to do it manually if you don't want to pay those silly fees; should be pretty easy to hit google, aol, yahoo, msn, netscape, etc. not like there are 100's of them that get much use now, they have links from the search or advanced search to do it...

oh yeah, and it can take a couple of months before your site is crawled by them all; it will get crawled/recrawled more often the more links to it there are from other sites, how much traffic it gets, etc.
