Adderall&Walk in clinics

ABall

New member
I was wondering what the possibilities of getting Adderall from a walk in clinic are. I am away from my family doc at university and am having really serious problems concentrating. Any experience, insight?

Thanks bros

Really? Thats good to hear. What the hell do I say? So you think a walk in clinic wil be the same as going to see the regular doc?

Thanks

Im just going to bump this a few times. I would like to hear some other opinions on my walk in clinic situation.

Thanks again

Not doubting you but most docs seem to want to put adults on an antidepressant like Paxil or Effexor.
My friend has an Rx for Ritalin 20mg 5x/day which amazes me.
Its nice b/c he shares :)

I would think you'd have a hard time getting any scheduled drug out of a doctor, particularly a walk in doc. But maybe I'm wrong.

Thats what I thought as well...........I think the only thing going for me is that I am out of town at school. I guess we will find out what happens.

The one thing I am really not sure about though is whether or not to mention that I have been researching and think Adderall would help me...

its not as easy as some will say bro, you can't just say, uhhh, i can't concentrate, can i get some adderrall. They have to establish you have a problem, this can be more hassle than its worth also. Since the latest prescription drug scares, doctors are a little tighter with prescriptions.

Shit really? Hmmm Im in Canada and havent realy heard of anything like that...perhaps it is different than in the US

dude im trying to get some of that as we speak..its not as easy as some people say..im not add but would love to have a script to help with studying..i know if u go to a sleep disorders clinic and tell the doc u have serious daytime fatigue he may diagnose u with narcolepsy and adderall will be urs..thats one way..people on this board have claimed to tell the doc they just cant concentrate and he gives them a script for adderall..i doubt most docs will be that easy to give someone adderall..but seriously if u try hard enough im sure u can hook up.

its easy as shit to get...just say you just started college or your masters or whatever and before you could get by, by just studying a little bit but now its hard cause you have to study for hours at a time and you can't cause you can't concentrate for that long....worked for me got a load of 100 pills here :)

Okay, this is one I can talk about with substantial experience. First off...ritalin is better than adderal, and concerta is better than ritalin. Concerta is the best of the best. Trust me on this one. I speak from substantial experience. As for getting a script for adderal, well, any name brand name ADD drug is pretty easy to get since there is so much money to be made by pharm companies. You have to probably shop around untill you find a doctor who will belive your bullshit story. Usually two or three docs is all it will take. Generics will be a little harder (I.E. such as methlyphenidate instead of ciba ritalin). Provided that you have comprehensive insurance, this shouldn't be a problem. Concerta is as expensive as balls...without insurance coverage, it's almost useless.

Alright, one down, hopefully not too many more to go. I just got back from the campus doc and there is no way they are going to give me a script. The doc said medication is a last resort (I didnt even mention any meds, just told her whats up) She believes councelling is the way to go! Like I am going to waste my time with that sort of thing! Im a busy guy! Now on to the walk in clinic......

Do you guys think I will have to take all these tests and shit? My appointment is in almost an hour and Im getting a little skeptical about this whole thing. I mean, I go to this doc whom I have never met before, tell him my 'problem' and he writes a script. Seems a little strange without having some serious tests done. Anyways, if someone has some insight, lemme hear it.

peace

i live in a college town (UF) and i know here its next to impossible to get a script for adderral
i have friends who've tried to get scripts for it and they had to take numerous tests before finally getting it prescribed

What exactly do you have to say to these docs? I dont wanna look like a dumbass druggy who can't "act" worth a shit.

Alright, just got back from the doc. I talked her ear off and she gave me a script for Ritalin. However, I have to have a follow up with her. What the hell is Ritalin anyways??Same as Adderall?

DUDE!!!!!

That is like twice the strenth of adderall!!!

Bro are you serious! Should I be happy? I was under the impression that it was weaker or something. Thats good news!!

A

hell no its not...thats is alot stronger than aderall...

I was under the impression that they were no longer going to prescribe it to adults because of the high doses and the abuse..

but if a good amphetamine is what you wanted...thats what you got buddy, so go pop 3 and read the boards till next monday night...because that will be the next time you sleep :)

Ritalin is not as strong as adderall. Adderall is stronger and has a longer lasting effect.

At least you got your foot in the door. Try the ritalin and if you dont like it, do some research on the benefits of adderall over ritalin and go in give a grade A oral presentation.

Just gotta do your homework.

WTF?? not even close, where do you get your information.

Adderall is around 3X stronger and much more effective. But if the Ritalin works then go for it. I started out on Ritalin too but eventually moved up to Adderall.

ive never taken ritilan before just adderall, but ive heard from tons of people (including my doctors) that ritilin is alot stonger compared to the doses that have to be given to adults

Ok mental note to self: Never talk to student health if in need of meds.

The walk in clinic lady who I spoke to told me she would prescribe me Ritalin and that I really needed it, she just had to call student health to get them to check up on me in a month.
Just now the student health lady calls and tries to tell me I dont need it and I am not going to get it! How the hell would she know! I never even spoke to her!

Fuck im pissed now

I would call and tell her its none of her fucking business that is was a personal doctors appiontment and if she tries to interfer with your treatment in any way she will have a law suit slaped on her ass so fast she will be paying you to pop as many pills as you want..

and another thing, this is how I got to "try out" as many meds as I wanted, just go to the doc and tell them that the meds worked for a couple week and have lost there effect and/or they tamper after a couple of hours...

pretty soon they will prscribe you what you want..

A good indication as to whether you need it or not is if you take it and is does nothing to you but allow you to focus more. If you take it and you feel speedy than you probably should not be on the stuff. Amphetamines are addictive for those who do not need them. You could be creating problems for yourself that you don’t need. That is if you are not already drug addict that I guess you know the drill already.

I'm planning on going to my campus doc next week to try and get some adderall. He already gave me a mild anti-depressant at xmas to help me sleep so I'm hopeful that he might give me adderall coming up to exams.
My exams are only in 3 weeks time so hopefully I can argue that I wouldn't have enough time for other alternatives, therapy etc to work while I'm trying to study hard.

Does anyone else have good ideas on what to say and what not to say to a campus doc when trying to get adderall?

The funny thing about all this is that I genuinely do think that I have ADD but may not be able to get a script for it!

it's not like walking in a getting some fucking claritin- most doc's (usually you have to see a certain kind-phsyc) will put you through some test and have to establish that you have a disorder(or if it has been established in the past)usually takes a couple of weeks

Alright, here is my experience. After I got rejected here on campus, I went and saw my family doc when I went home for easter. I talked to him for a while and he ended up prescribing me ritalin. Bottom line:Go to your family doc. If you can't, go to another family doc. You will never get any ADD meds from a walk in clinic because they need to check your liver values every so often when taking this stuff. So any family doc will do.

So, I got the Ritalin. I had an insane amount of work to do and would have never been able to get it done without this shit. No joke, since easter, I would wake up at 7, take 20-25 mgs Ritalin, and get to it.

I would have to repeat this 3 times a day.For the first two weeks I was writing papers and completing projects. I received over 80% on everything and one of the papers (honours seminar paper = 40 pages) was submitted for the department prize by my prof. I put on an amazing powerpoint presentation to my class and defended my ideas exceptionally well. Next was the exams. I wrote the last one yesterday and completely aced it like I have never aced anything before. This prof was so impressed with my paper (for a different course) and intuition into his class that he said he would supervise me for a masters and maybe even phd program after a year!!!!! I am an Econ/Finance major and this shit is tough!!I am so pumped up and am very gratefull for this stuff.

Here is the down side: you are a zombie. But, you get your work done. Sometimes you get jittery and wired. Concerning weight loss ? Yep, I lost about 8 pounds (but i always lose weight around exams) -- but im still 208 which aiint bad for me- - the Ritalin also seemed to make me ripped. You have to remember to eat because your appetite is curbed.

I will only take it when studying. I haven't taken it for a few days and feel fine. There you have it.

Peace
