A few remedies:
Vit A - Helps promote healthy skin in general, may help a bit.
Vit E - Helps promote healthy skin in general, may help a bit.
Zinc - Helps promote healthy skin in general, may help a bit, works well on Acne
Vit B5 (like 5-10 grams per day to start) - Can help some guys dramatically.
Anti-Bacterial Soap - Dermalogica or Clinique have good ones.
Sulphuric Soap - Have heard good things, never tried it.
Washing 2x a day (don't scrub really hard - that makes it worse! Do NOT like scrub scrub scrub your face with a brush, even a washcloth, use your hands and hopefully some type of cleanser that has a bit of granules in it)
Get a back brush for your back.
Retin-A, topical, can work very well. Drys the skin, takes a while to have a good effect.
Tetracycline - Dermatologists and Docs tend to prescribe this .... it is only mildy effective. Plus, it must be taken like between meals ..... on empty stomach ...... hard for a BBer to accommodate.
Accutane - THE Best remedy. NOT a short-term thing and not to be taken lightly. Takes a while to have an effect, but the effects may last anywhere from 2 years to the rest of ones life. Accutane must be adminsitered over a period of 4-6 months, without stopping, and can be anywhere from mildly uncomfortable to a mild version of hell. Look up my screen name and the word "accutane" using the search feature.
General Note: A coomon problem (especially for men, and especially for BBers and such .....) is that guys think "more is better". That is not the case with some aspects of treatement for Acne. The best example - scrubbing and cleansing. Gusy will think that if 2x a day to scrub is good, 4x is better! If light scrubbing is good - then freegin scrubbing the hell out of their face is better. IT'S NOT. You CAN (and many guys DO) go TOO FAR so that you actyually damage the skin, and the skin is constantly trying to heal - it makes more oil, tries to repair itself, and the acne gets WORSE! So do NORT scruib like a madman - CLEANSE - just CLEANSE - and Gently abrade the skin to get rid of dead cells, and get the surface layer of oil cleaned off - but do NOT rip the out few layers of skin off. OK?
Another note: Many guys tend to have greater problem with rapid CHANGES in hormone levels, than just having elevated hormone levels. Knowing that - PLAN AHEAD. Acne (on Test cycle for example) would be the biggest problem during the first month, and during the recovery time (when takingf clomid). PLAN AHEAD by taking B-5 and such a bit prior to these times.
Another note: The "deepr" the acne is in the skin, the longer it takes to effect a solution. Meaning, if they are just surface blemishes, then you might use something that will help these in a matter of days. But the deep "cystic" acne (the type that you FEEL first as like a lump under the skin - before you ecen SEE it) takes WEEKS to develop and may take WEEKs for any (even a veery effective) remedy to have an effect upon.
Another note (I am on a Roll): Do NOT touch your face! (what the hell ......?!?!?!). Yup. Oil from your hands WILL promote acne. Only touch your face with your hands CLEAN AND RECENTLY WASHED. This may sound like BS, but trust me, it IS a factor. I was working for a while and had this area of my forehad (just one side ...?) that was breaking out. Then I realized that when I was at my desk, I wouild rest my head on my hand/arm, and I was plaving my hand on my forehead while doing that! Trust me, this IS an issue. If you must handle yoru face at all then WASH YOUR HANDS first. (This is a big issue for .... and excuse me here . guys who "pop" ....... ew...... sorry).
And the last word (ewwwwwwwww) if you do "pop" or polay minor surregy on breakouts, WASH YOUR HANDS, and sterilze any pins or anything that you use!
Hope that helps.
Trust me, I know about this shit.
Pardon the typos. LOL
Later for now. I am off to da jeem nah yah, dahts right!
