So have any of you guys taken accutane w/o your doctors supervision if so what doasages and what are your stats??? Also what were your results?? do u still get some zits or none at all??? all help rewarded w/ karma

I had this years ago with docs supervision, infact under a skin specialist.. Had the usual very dry lips, very dry nose, but even worse and I think one of the guys on here has had it worse than me, very very dry eyes, I was 15, now 35years old, and every day I wake up with my eyes as dry as a nuns *u*t.... still, blood shot for a couple of hours and the rims of my eyes red most of the day, aircon rooms makes them worse.. but to answer your question yes it does and did work.....

I took it when I was younger, I think abotu 14. I only used it for 1 month because I started getting a bloody nose multiple times per day. That was 8 years ago. My dad perscribed, hes a doctor, but really doesn't know much about dermatology. I never took a blood test or anything and i am still alive but who knows what could have hapened. I have had bloody noses at least once a day for 8 years. I am now 22 and still get acne, especially on my back. I'd like to go on a accutane cycle for 8 months at 80 mg and try to cure myself of zits but I don't want to deal with the initial breakout. I don;t really get acne on my face that much and it would really suck to all of a sudden get 50 new zits because that is what happens when you first start taking it.

I am on it right now, doctor proscribed though. Currently taking 30mg twice a day and the difference with me has been profound; both with the side effects and with the acne. To start, the negatives are pretty harsh. Bloody noses every few days, my lips LOOK and FEEL like someone hit them with a rasp, and it makes contact wearing a bitch too (a bitch but still doable). As far as the good goes it's amazing. I HAD systic nodular acne on my back and scars all over my lower back from years of it. Not only has the accutane cleared up the acne but also the scars! The biggest difference with me is how oily my skin was. It was so bad before accutane that 20 minutes after I washed my face I had a sheen of oil. Hair, back, all of it was oily. Now I might be super self-critical as my fiance says it wasn't that bad but I really think it was. Hell, my skin was so oily that you could tell which side of the bed I was sleeping on by the tint of the sheets! F'in gross I know. All that shit is gone though now. I've been on accutane since the first week of may. Also, I have to get blood tests every month prior to each prescription and my cholesterol is ALWAYS jacked.

Big picture, if you have acne that in one way or another has screwed up your life, then accutane is the shit. For little breakouts here and there I don't think it would be worth it... It has definitely made my cycle a breeze though, 500mg test enan a week and not a pimple to show for it!

I am o accutane without prescription, I take 20mg eod that does the trick and keeps me away from nasty side effects, I cycle it 3 months on 1 month off and so on...
I am happy.
