Accutane users

Bros,

Broke out real bad last cycle of sus. This was cycle number five for me and I never got acne like this on my shoulders, chest, upper arm and jawline. It has gotten so out of control I had to get on the Accutane. After use of the search function I am confident it will clear up the acne in no time. My concern is will the acne come back after my 20 week therapy because of my steroid use. Also does the Accutane affect your cycle gains? My doc put me on 80mg/day for five months. I start it next week. Any imput is appreciated

Thanks

I was on accutance for 7 months, eventually dosing at 80mg ED. It is a quite potent drug, but takes about a month to kick in. Once your treatment is over, acne should stay away for a long time. I have been done with treatment for 5 years now, and I have yet to see an outbreak, even on cycle. good luck

ya i was prescribed accutane at 120 mg every day for 6 months and it took 2-3 months to start working, chances are you are going to break out right when you start taking it since the drug pushed all the acne and cysts out of your skin, and hnce the intinal break out associated with accutane...

well i took accutane and then 2 months later, i ran a test and d bol cycle and i got just a few zits, but they went away real fast. dont forget accutane is 100% effective, that is why ppl sometimes have to take a second course of it. it only works for 9/10 ppl. good luck

If u have the huge ass zits or cysts ask your dr. about getting cortisone shots for each cysts, it works awsome! it can knock out a cyst in 2 days !

I don't have tons of zits but have a few on my face and on my back I hate zits and want to take Accutane but would it be effective if I don't really have that many zits?

no dont take it then, and i doubt your dr. will prescribe it for just a few zits. if it bothers you, try vit b5 or also called panthonic acid...sold on the net and at gnc....or try retin A micro....a cream that a dr will prescribe to you....when u take accutane u cant drink or run juice....it is rough on the LDL and HDL levels and harsh on the liver values as well

try b 5 and some sun.....

Accutane is used as a last line of defense against acne, it is used in the most severe cases. Keep that in mind because you will suffer many sides if you decide to commence treatment.

Did your doctors know about AS use? Were they still receptive to the Accutain idea? I get these hard lumps in my back when on sus but they never come to the surface. I was thinking about going to my doctor but didn't know how he would respond.

I love the shit. Have had mild-to-bad acne since I was a teenager on my face and body. Never super serious but use to have to use tetracycline and retin-a when I was younger which didn't do jack squat. Now I kinda use Accutane as a maintenance thing. Never have done high amounts for months straight like the doctor will recommend (which is probably the best route for permanent treatment), but I take 10-20mg every couple of days or so and keeps most of my acne at bay. Every once in awhile I'll get a nasty little outbreak, but for the most part it stays pretty clear.

I think accutane is a wonder drug - but I question this type of usage because there is a lack of studies on long term low dosage accutane use. I know for a fact that studies have shown accutane having a negative effect on pancreas output, glucose clearance, and cholesterol. Cholesterol isn't that much of a concern to me, but impaired insulin sensitivity doesn't always bounce back after taking some medications for a long time...so proceed with caution.

Let me also state that accutane has harsh side effects and anyone considering it for "a few zits" is nuts.

well in usa here, we believe in a higer dose and a shorter time and in europe, they believe in a low dose but for longer peroid of time,

for as of acne coming back, the more total mg you took over your corse will be the key factor if u need to use it again, so dermotolisgts prescribe a low dose and want pateints to take 2 courses, i was like fuck that and gimmie a high ass dose

well i had just normal side effects , chap lips and skin peeling but i felt down and not as happy since i was a pale zit head :( and it took month 4-5 for it to start working strongly. i took 6 months at 120 mg ED.... i tried to get him to prescribe me 160 -200 mg everyday since my lab work was perfect and i was only suffereing from chap lips really '(chapstick fixes that)

Please substantiate the statement that accutane is taken at lower dosages in europe. I know for a fact that roche has that same prescribing guidelines in europe as they do in the usa due to the fact that there are NO studies on long term low dosage usage.

i was told this by my DR. each DR can change the number of mg prescribed around. total mg eqauls the same so

15 weeks at 8o mg ED is 8400 usa maybe here
20 weeks at 60 mg ED is 8400 in europe.....

different ways of prescribing it

Accutane is serious shit. I took it for severe acne when I was young (15) but got terrible nose bleeds, among other side effects like really chapped lips, super dry skin, some hair fell out, pain in area of my liver and more, and had to stop it after 2 months. The acne stayed away for a year but then came back strong and it also moved to my back, and chest which never broke out before. After stopping the medicine I got severe nose bleeds for 6 years every single fucking day. I just had one a few hours ago actually. Its as if I've been doing coke, however I have never touched the shit. I feel like trying to file a law suit but I don't know if it would do anything. I serious suggest not taking that shit. If your someone that got acne bad while growing up, theres a very good chance on gear it will be 10 times as bad.

Accutane not only has an effect on sebaucus glands, it also affects other endocrine systems such as the pancreas - that is why while on accutane most people have signifigantly impaired glucose clearance.

While most studies show that this goes away after cessation of a 5-6 month high dose course, nobody knows what happens with long term usage-it could have quite a different effect. I reiterate again that there are zero studies on long term use so i wouldn't mess with it longer than i had to.

Personally, I'll deal with the minor impairment of pancreas output, glucose clearance, and cholesterol to have clear skin. There is nothing fu**ing worse than zits. Besides I have using this very low mg amount for over two years now pretty regularly usually only about 20-60mg/wk and I have never had any problem with cholesterol levels or liver levels. Also, I have still been able to bulk up and grow properly and diet down properly for shows so the uptake of glucose seems to be working just fine also. Maybe it is impaired slightly, and if so I guess I'd be a frickin monster. But, I guess I'd rather be a little smaller and less healthy to have clear skin.

Hey, different strokes for different folks - just curious as to why you wouldn't want to go through 5 months of regular treatment and never have to mess with the crap again though. Stuff is exensive and gives me a lot of sides that i don't like dealing with.

Well, I don't have a script for the stuff so I'd rather use it sparingly. Also, with all of the nasty side effects I've heard about by heavy dosing, I feel like this approach really isn't too bad since the worst side effects I've seen so far is a little chapping of the lips and skin in the cold winter months. If I knew though that my acne would be totally ridden if I hit it hard for several months I think if I could obtain enough I might give it a shot. I'm telling you bro, acne frickin sucks. I really don't know why it bothers me so much because I don't have it too, too bad. Just can't stand the sight of ugly red, inflamed bumps especially with white shit popping out on my face and body. And even if you don't look at yourself you are always reminded of a nasty zit cuz the shit hurts. Anyways, enough ranting. To hell with acne!

i took accutane for like 5 months cleared me up real good. it will make your lips really dry so go buy some aquaphor, it is a healing ointment and smear that shit all over your lips at night. accutane is the shit tho, i did my first cycle after my accutane and didn't break out at all....
good luck bro

ive heard of aquaphor, how well did that work for you?

did anyone experience any depression?

I'm going on accutane next week (with script)
