Can people from other countries differentiate between a Canadian accent and an American accent?

I, personnally, can't tell the two apart.

Anyone?

I've known a few people from Canada and I wouldn't have been able to tell. They sure didn't sound Texan though.

It can be difficult. I agree, a Texan accent sounds different to a Canadian accent, but Northern US v. Canada, I have trouble. This s why I always ask people "So where in North America are you from?" to avoid the Canadians removing my head at the shoulders for daring to suggest they might be from the US lol. DItto Aussies v. Kiwis.
