A woman's right to choose?

A recent thread on the death penalty wherein this subject was touched on got me thinking.
Is it soley a woman's right to choose to keep a pregnancy? Many people think that it is since it is her body.
I disagree.
The woman would not be pregnant without a man involved, period. Why would the decision be left to a woman to decide soley?
I would hope that the decision be a mutual one whether to keep the child or not. Both parties were involved in conception so why wouldn't the man have equal say?
Both the man and the woman got into the situation together so why would only one be able to make the decision on keeping the child or not?
This is a touchy subject and I am just curious what evryone's opinions are on it.

I believe it is the woman's choice, period. Her body, her decision. I know it's not the popular opinion, but it's mine and I'll always beleive it.

Here's a woman's opinion: It depends...

1) If the couple had previously agreed to make a baby before they had sex, then each should have a say.

2) If it was sex of the recreational variety and the man made no mention of wanting a baby before engaging in sex, then the woman has full say.

3) If the couple is married, each should have a say, otherwise just the woman.

I'm surprised that lawyers haven't gotten involved in this. Just like people can get a pre-nuptial agreement before marriage, maybe there should be a pre-coital agreement...

However, if the decision is to keep the baby, and the woman expects child support, then the man should have equal say. I think feminism has reached the point where woman can no longer use the ol' despicable OOPS trick to get a man or his $$.

I'd bump one of the several abortion threads around here, but digger would probably lock them shits faster than a midnight teabagging from Becoming.

By the by, your logic is flawed.

Ever heard of rape? What then, superstar?

Kinda funny... its the womans right to choose...

but if she "chooses" to have the baby... the father sure as hell doesnt have the choice as to whether or not he wants to pay child support...

and until he gets that choice.. he should have a say in whether or not they want to keep the baby..

MEN should ABSOLUTELY have a say in whether or not the baby is kept..

but I would find it VERY difficult to abort a baby... I love babies way to much.. I could only see abortion being an option if you were totally destitue and could never care for it... but it would have to be prety damn extreme.

Why not just give it up for adoption... lots of people want little babies.

Obviously, to most people, I was talking of consensual sex. BTW, name a case for me that the rapist stuck around long enough to find out she was pregnant and then want say in her keeping the baby or not.

Here body, her choice to get knocked up. But the man should have some say in the matter.
