A very basic question

Since everyone should take alot of protein like 1.5-3 g per pound

does the total amount of protein consumed effect the amount of protein synthesized?

For example, if a person took 300g of protein daily, and the same person took 200g a different day, would the amount of protein synthesized change? or is it all genetically pre-determined

Your body will only use what is needed. The rest will be urinated or added as stored calories. (FAT)

1.5-3g of protein per pound of body mass is ridiculously high, and will only equate to an expensive source of additional calories if you're attempting to "bulk up." I'd shoot for somewhere in the neighborhood of 2-2.5g of protein per kilogram of body mass, and then up your carbohydrate and fat intake to bring your total caloric intake up (again, assuming your goal is to bulk up).
