A question for everyone about the word "fat"

Can I get what everyone's opinion is on what is considered to be fat? I mean, we have these threads going on but no one has said what they feel is considered to be fat. Just curious...

I was told by my doctor that I was in the OBESE category as I am 5'10" and weighed 235 at the time...

She didnt bother with the simple fact that I was at 8% Bf at the time..

there is a big difference between overweight and fat here. you are trying to make my posts sound like im crucifying anyone who has an extra pound or two, which is not the case in the least bit. i am simply posting actual posts of other people that are so overweight they crack toilete seats, people that schedule time to shit along with shower time since they cant wipe their own ass, people that write government officials in outraged responses to the 'war on obesity' because they find it offensive (even though it costs the taxpayers billions in health care costs, and leads to serious health problems. it goes on and on.

This thread was made simply out of curiousity. I am behind you 100% in the fact that overweight people should not be writing letters to congress and bitching about all that is unjust against fat people. But people need something to bitch about, thats simply human nature.

I think 10% is good 20% (what i have right now) is too much.
Women can have 10% more than men to be healthy and a little more fat looks good on woman anyway.

no shit. I looked up my BMI, and i'd have to be at -6% bf to not be overweight.

It varies from person to person. Some people can carry a lot of blubber and still look respectable. I've got a friend who's 16% and still has abs. I hate him.

Someone like me on the otherhand....well, I'm sitting around 12.5% and I feel like a whale. lol Nah, not really but compared to other men at the same level, I look chubbier.

For most men, I'd say anything over 15% and you're chubby. 20%+ and you're fat.

Women...no idea. I guess anywhere from 30%-40% would be fat.(??)
