A question about KING KONG

Ok, before everyone stampedes to the Karma Bookie board and bets on my King Kong thread. (go there now bitches).. I have a question.

Why did the man decide to capture Kong and take him back to NYC? I mean think about it. Kong was an ape, while giant, it was still something everyone had seen before. But on the island was DINOSAURS. Why not capture one of those? That would be a much more acclaimed discovery and such.
